This is a county-by-county data analysis of the Tennessee housing shortage.  The general finding is that the housing shortage is similar to other states but is unique in that it is driven by migration into and around the state. As these trends slow and housing supply catches up, the recent rapid increase in housing costs is expected to ease. Even as things stabilize, high housing costs are a challenging new normal, especially in communities that have not traditionally grappled with these issues.
